Egyptian film "Souad" will participate at the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) in the category of the international film, media agencies reported on Wednesday.
It will compete against 18 films, and only five will be selected for the final round of the competition. The qualified films will be announced on November 3.
It is worth mentioning that the two stars of the Egyptian film won the best actress award at Tribeca Film Festival.
Directed by Ayten Amin, the film starring Bassant Ahmed, and Basmala Elghaiesh.
The film sheds light on the differences between the human’s identity in real life and social media through its main character, Souad.
She is 19 years old girl whose identity is shattered between real life and the virtual one, so her younger sister decides to try to look for answers with her about this identity crisis.
The film was selected to be premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and Berlin International Film Festival.
It was the second feature directed by Ayten Amin after her successful feature Villa 69.
