“Sonic the Hedgehog 2" Gets Streaming Date

The second installment in the “Sonic the Hedgehog“ franchise has received multiple at-home viewing release dates.

It will available to stream on Paramount+ as well as on Digital for purchase and rent on all platforms starting May 24.

The sequel is also set to be released in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on August 9.

“Sonic the Hedgehog 2“ picks up where the first left off, with Tom and Maddie leaving Sonic alone in Green Hills while they go on vacation.

As soon as they leave, Dr. Robotnik comes back, this time, with a new partner, Knuckles, in search of an emerald that has the power to both build and destroy civilizations, which provides Sonic with the opportunity to show that he has what it takes to be a true hero.

The sequel stars Knuckles the Echidna as Idris Elba, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, the tail-spinning fox. It will also star Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, and Shemar Moore.

It sees James Marsden and Tika Sumpter reprising their roles along with Ben Schwartz returning as Sonic the Hedgehog and Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik.

The installment saw Jeff Fowler returning to direct from a script by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington.
