"Sonic the Hedgehog 2" Final Trailer Released

Paramount Pictures released Monday the final trailer for the sequel to “Sonic the Hedgehog“.

The movie is based on the SEGA video game and is produced by Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, Toru Nakahara, Hitoshi Okuno with Haruki Satomi, Yukio Sugino, Shuji Utsumi, Nan Morales, and Tim Miller serving as executive producers.

The sequel picks up where the first left off, with Tom and Maddie leaving Sonic alone in Green Hills while they go on vacation.

As soon as they leave, Dr. Robotnik comes back, this time, with a new partner, Knuckles, in search of an emerald that has the power to both build and destroys civilizations, which provides Sonic with the opportunity to show that he have what it takes to be a true hero.

The sequel stars Knuckles the Echidna as Idris Elba, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, the tail-spinning fox. It will also star Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, and Shemar Moore.

It sees James Marsden and Tika Sumpter reprising their roles along with Ben Schwartz returning as Sonic the Hedgehog and Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik.

Jeff Fowler also returns to direct from a script by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington.

“Sonic the Hedgehog 2” will hit theaters on April 8.
