On Tuesday, veteran Egyptian actress Somaya El Alfy gave fans an update on her health after undergoing cancer surgery.
In a phone-in with the "MBC Masr" TV channel, the actress shared that she removed the tumor and lymph nodes from the chest.
"I am fine now, thank God, I am improving," she reassured.
El Alfy stated that the treating doctor told her that the tumor is a rare type, and noted: "The Cancer that I had was rare; I began my treatment journey two weeks later."
On December 18, the actress underwent a very delicate surgery after she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
She was hospitalized for several days, accompanied by her son, Ahmed El Fishawy, and several relatives.
El Alfy underwent the surgery after she felt extreme fatigue in the chest for several months and underwent medical tests that required her undergoing a surgical procedure.
