Disney has unveiled a special look at the upcoming live-action remake of “Snow White.”
The original movie, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” was released in 1937 and was Disney’s first feature-length animated movie.
It follows young Snow White, who flees the castle after her stepmother, the Evil Queen, becomes so jealous of her beauty that she orders the Huntsman to kill her. The Huntsman fails to do so, and Snow White escapes to a cottage where she finds seven dwarves.
Discovering that Snow White is still alive, the Evil Queen visits her at the cottage and gives her a poisoned apple. Upon being poisoned, Snow White is later awoken by a prince’s true love’s kiss.
The footage provides fans with the first look at Rachel Zegler as Snow White while performing one of the movie’s new songs, titled “Waiting on a Wish.” Set to expand the story and music from the animated movie, La La Land and The Greatest Showman duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul wrote the new songs for the adaptation.
The remake hails from Marc Webb and is the latest Disney remake. Webb directs “Snow White” from a script by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson.
It also stars Gal Gadot as The Evil Queen, Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman, Andrew Burnap plays the new role of Jonathan, Martin Klebba as Grumpy, Patrick Page as the voice of the Magic Mirror, and more.
Following the “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” this newest iteration of the story follows Snow White after the jealous wicked queen, who also happens to be her mother, orders her murder. Snow White runs away into a forest and discovers the magic of the seven dwarfs in a cottage.
The cast and team behind the remake have promised an updated version of the classic fairy tale.
“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” is set to debut on March 21, 2025.
