"President Sisi made a phone call today [Sunday] with his brother His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, King of the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan," Rady said.
During the call, Sisi reassured the stability of the situation in Jordan, voicing Egypt's government's and people's full solidarity with Jordan.
Moreover, he reaffirmed full support for all recent decisions taken by King Abdullah II in order to preserve the security and stability of Jordan.
For his part, the Jordanian monarch expressed his sincere appreciation for the support of the Egyptian president, which embodies the depth and strength of the historical ties between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
King Abdullah’s half-brother and former Crown Prince Hamza bin Hussein was asked to halt actions used to target the country’s “security and stability”, the military said on Saturday.
In a statement published on the state news agency, it said this was part of a broader, ongoing security investigation in which a former minister, a member of the royal family and unnamed others were detained.
