Egypt’s President، Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi laid on Monday a wreath of flowers on the memorial of Unknown Soldier in Nasr City, Cairo on the 47th anniversary of 6th of October war victory.
Sisi also laid a wreath of flowers on the tomb of late Presidents Anwar El-Sadat and Gamal Abdel Nasser.
The president was received by Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed Zaki, Army Chief of Staff Mohamed Farid, and as well as a number of military leaders.
Moreover, he shook hands with family members of the late two presidents.

On this occasion, Sisi presided over a meeting of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces.
The meeting addressed a number of files and topics related to the activities and tasks of the armed forces and their efforts in protecting the Egyptian national security pillars on all strategic directions as well as combating terrorism in cooperation with various state institutions.
It is worth mentioning that, ‘October War’, also known as the ‘1973 Arab–Israeli War’, was a war fought by the coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria against Israel from October 6 to 25, 1973.
The war eventually led to Israeli forces withdrawing from the Sinai Peninsula on 25 April 1982 after 15 years of occupation, based on a peace treaty signed between Egypt and Israel in 1979.
