On Sunday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi hailed the United Nations's very important role in facing global and regional challenges related to combating crimes and terrorism.
These remarks came during a bilateral meeting with Dr. Ghada Wali, the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
During the talks, President Sisi called for strengthening ongoing efforts to exchange expertise in areas related to the UN work, with the aim of activating the international organization programs related to combating crimes in an integrated manner to maintain security and stability.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that Dr. Wali expressed her sincere appreciation to President Sisi for his continuous support for the UN.
She hoped that the coming days would see greater cooperation with Egypt with the aim of maximizing the capabilities of the international community to address the threats posed by cross-border organized crime, in addition to addressing corruption and its negative impact on societies.
