Sisi: Grand Egyptian Museum's Inauguration Must Be Perfect

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said preparations of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) must be perfect as possible, in terms of the architectural and archaeological aspects, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady on Sunday.

"This is in addition to harnessing the latest state-of-the-art technology to secure the museum and applying the best methods and latest techniques in the museum display and exhibitions," said Rady.

Sisi stressed the need to enhance the capacity of buildings and roads in all directions surrounding the Grand Egyptian Museum.

This shall emphasize and highlight the grandeur and uniqueness of the ancient Egyptian civilization and capitalize on the museum’s outstanding location, overlooking the pyramids plateau, thus befitting its value and significance as one of the world’s largest museums.

This will contribute to turning the museum into a face of the Egyptian civilization, reflecting Egypt’s deserved status in the world.

On his part, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Khaled El-Anani, reviewed the latest preparations for the organization of the grand promotional event in Luxor governorate, which will host the grand parade to celebrate Luxor’s Pharaonic Kebash Road.

El-Anani offered an overview of the flow of tourism during the current period, as well as the ongoing coordination among the various relevant ministries and authorities in this regard, so as to bolster and further enhance tourism and promotion of the various tourist destinations.

In this regard, Sisi gave directives to organize a glamorous celebration reflecting the persity characterizing Luxor governorates as an integrated international tourist destination.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister, Moustafa Madbouly, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Assem El Gazzar, the Advisor to the President for Urban Planning, General Amir Sayyed Ahmed,  Chairman of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, General Ehab El Far, Assistant to the Chairman of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority on the Grand Egyptian Museum, General Atef Muftah, the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Moustafa Waziri, and Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Archaeological Affairs at the Grand Egyptian Museum, Dr. Al-Tayeb Abbas.
