President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrives at the Elysee Palace in Paris to take part in the International Conference on Libya and Paris Peace Forum on Friday.

Macron welcomed Sisi in Paris and received him at the Elysee.

Sisi arrived at Charles de Gaulle Airport in the French capital, Paris, on Thursday to take part in the International Conference on Libya.

“The President’s participation in this important conference comes in response to the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, and in light of the close relations between Egypt and France, as well as Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting the political track in Libya at the bilateral, regional and international levels,” noted Rady.

Sisi is expected to focus on the solidarity of the international community to support Libya during the important historical turning point it is currently going through, especially through holding the elections expected on its scheduled date next December.

Macron organizes an international conference on Libya Friday in Paris to give a final “impulse” to the December 24 elections, which remain in doubt against the backdrop of renewed tension between the two competing camps.
