During a meeting with Libyan Tribes Sheikhs and Notable Figures, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed that the red lines announced earlier by him at Sidi Barani base are essentially a call for peace and an end to the conflict in Libya.

“Egypt will not stand idle in the face of any movements that directly threaten the national security of Egypt, Libya, the Arab world, the region, and the world,” Sisi said on Thursday.

“The meeting was held under the slogan of ‘Egypt and Libya… one people and one destiny’,” added Rady.

Sisi gave a significant speech and sent several messages to regional and international powers.

Here are Sisi’s 8 direct messages to all parties

  • Egypt will not allow betting on armed militias in Libya.
  • Egypt is able to change the military scene in Libya quickly and decisively.
  • Egypt will not stand idly if the Sirte-Al-Jafra line is crossed.
  • We will not accept the destabilization of the eastern region of Libya.
  • We will face any great force in any direct moves that threaten Egyptian and Libyan national security.
  • The Egyptian army is one of the strongest armies in the region and Africa.
  • Egypt has always supported the political solution in Libya and has no anti-Libyan stances.
  • The lack of the will for a political solution by the warring parties has led to the interference of external forces that employ some parties to accomplish their interests in Libya.
  • The Libyan tribal figures called on the Egyptian president to take all necessary measures to secure the interests of the national security of Libya and Egypt and face common challenges, to consolidate the Libyan parliament’s call for Egypt to intervene to protect the Libyan people and preserve the unity and integrity of the country’s lands.

The delegation of Libyan tribes loyal to eastern forces arrived in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss developments in the war-torn country, a few days after the eastern-based Libyan parliament asked Egypt to directly intervene if necessary in light of what it described as a Turkish “aggression.”
