Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam is beginning a four-day official visit to Malaysia on Sunday at the invitation of King Sultan Ibrahim.
The visit is Tharman's first official trip to Malaysia as president and follows Sultan Ibrahim's visit to Singapore in May 2024, according to The Straits Times.
During the 12–15 July visit, Tharman will hold meetings in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, according to Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In Kuala Lumpur, he will receive an official welcome at Istana Negara before holding talks with King Sultan Ibrahim and Queen Raja Zarith Sofiah. He is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and senior officials from Malaysia's economic and financial sectors.
In Selangor, the Singaporean president will meet Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Selangor Chief Minister Amirudin Shari.
