"Siko Siko" Hits EGP82,5 Million at Box Office after 10 Days

Egyptian stars Taha Desouky and Essam Omar's comedy film "Siko Siko" has passed a major domestic box office milestone after playing in theaters for 10 days.

The pic amassed EGP 3,030,756 on Tuesday, bringing the film's total revenue since its release in cinemas on March 30 to EGP 82,517,277.

“Siko Siko” is a social comedy that revolves around "Two cousins, both from a middle-class background, finally see their dream come true when their inheritance is rightfully returned to them following their uncle’s death. Soon after, and to their shock, they discover that the inheritance is in the form of illegal goods. In order to liquidate these goods, they create an elaborate mobile game in order to sell the goods through it. They call this game… “Siko Siko”. The cousins enjoy a brief moment of spectacular success before a mob boss appears in their lives, and claims to be the real owner of the goods!".

The cast also stars Tara Emad, Bassem Samra, Ali Sobhy, Khaled El Sawy, Diana Hisham, Ahmed Abdel Hamid, and more.

Omar El Mohandes directs the film from a script by Mohamed El Dabbah.

The feature marks Desouky and Omar's first major role in a film. It is co-produced by United Film Production, Film Square, and producer Ahmed Badawy.
