Egyptian stars Taha Desouky and Essam Omar's comedy film "Siko Siko" has passed another major domestic box office milestone after playing in theaters for two weeks.

The pic amassed EGP 4,399,000 on Saturday, bringing the film's total revenue since its release in cinemas on March 30 to EGP 102,442,000. It is the only film to hit the milestone in 2025.

“Siko Siko” is a social comedy that revolves around "Two cousins, both from a middle-class background, finally see their dream come true when their inheritance is rightfully returned to them following their uncle’s death. Soon after, and to their shock, they discover that the inheritance is in the form of illegal goods. In order to liquidate these goods, they create an elaborate mobile game in order to sell the goods through it. They call this game… “Siko Siko”. The cousins enjoy a brief moment of spectacular success before a mob boss appears in their lives, and claims to be the real owner of the goods!".

The cast also stars Tara Emad, Bassem Samra, Ali Sobhy, Khaled El Sawy, Diana Hisham, Ahmed Abdel Hamid, and more.

Omar El Mohandes directs the film from a script by Mohamed El Dabbah.

The feature marks Desouky and Omar's first major role in a film. It is co-produced by United Film Production, Film Square, and producer Ahmed Badawy.

In an interview with "Sada Elbalad", El Mohandes said "Siko Siko" took two years of writing and production to come to light and was initially set to a TV series, but he, El Dabbah, Omar, and Taha Desouky, decided to turn it into a film.

"The idea came from all of us, and we worked on developing it together until it reached its final form. The film's name came naturally once we settled on the basic idea," he noted.

The director noted that the most difficult part of the project was making a solid and well-crafted script, as it took time to fine-tune the script.

El Mohandes added: "Shooting also faced significant challenges, especially with the stunt and action scenes, but we overcame these difficulties with the support of the team and their love for the project,".

He also spoke about the filming process, saying, "The atmosphere was enjoyable but stressful, especially since we shot in difficult locations during the summer. But the enthusiasm and belief in the project made it easier for all of us,".

El Mohandes expressed his hope that the audience would enjoy "Siko Siko," emphasizing that the entire crew had put in a great effort to ensure the film was as good as possible.
