Shia LaBeouf was arrested early Tuesday following a physical altercation during Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
The “Transformers” actor was involved in an incident shortly after midnight outside a bar in the French Quarter, during which he received medical attention from paramedics.
A witness told TMZ that LaBeouf had been escorted out of a nearby bar for unknown reasons, and the alleged fight occurred afterwards.
According to court records, LaBeouf is facing two charges of simple battery.
LaBeouf has had a history of erratic behavior and legal issues, including a lawsuit filed against him by his former partner FKA Twigs for sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress. The lawsuit was settled in July of last year.
Prior to that, the actor was court-ordered to attend rehab following a 2017 arrest in Georgia for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
In 2025, LaBeouf appeared in Leo Lewis O’Neil’s documentary “Slauson Rec,” which followed the actor as he led and taught at an experimental theater company.
The film, which screened at the Cannes Film Festival, shows LaBeouf berating actors and crew members, instigating a fistfight, and engaging in other aggressive behavior.
