Sherine's "Cinderella” to Begin Filming in December

Walid Mansour, the producer for superstar Sherine Abdel-Wahab's new movie "Cinderella”, has shared the latest developments of the upcoming production.

Mansour revealed to “et bil arabi” that the movie will begin filming in December after its preparations have been completed.

The movie is a musical genre; it is written by Amir Teima and directed by Mohamed Shaker Khodeir.

Mansour added that they are searching for a new talent that can act and sing to star in the movie along with Sherine.

The movie also stars Bayoumi Fouad and Amr Abdel Gelil; it witnesses Sherine return to the silver screen after 16 years of absence.

The superstar made her acting debut in 2003, co-starring in prominent actor Ahmed Helmy’s film “Medo Mashakil” (Medo is trouble).

In 2015, she co-starred in her first leading role in a TV series “Tariqi” (My Way), which achieved great success during its premiere in Ramadan.

The 39-year-old superstar talent was first discovered as a child by her music teacher at school, who convinced her mother to take her to the Cairo Opera House to meet veteran musician Selim Sahab.

Sherine auditioned in front of him, who liked her voice a lot. The singer had served as a choral member at the Cairo Opera House from the age of nine to twelve, and then she was given a chance to become a solo singer.

She kept performing at the Cairo Opera House while looking for a music producer to launch her professional career.

Sherine, 18, was introduced to director and music producer Nasr Mahrous, who he liked her talented voice and decided to collaborate with her via “Free Music” production company, where she met with superstar, Tamer Hosny, a who was also a new talent seeking an opportunity.

Her first recorded song released in 2002 as a part of the album that included works of other artists.

The album was released, by the title “Free Mix3: Tamer and Sherine” and was a big hit all across the entire Middle East and North Africa. The album sold more than 20 Million copies all across the whole MENA.

It was a big hit particularly because of her single song called “Ah ya Leil”, which boosted her fame.

In early 2000, she made a duet song called “Bahebak” with Mohamed Mohy, which achieved great success and boosted her fame.

That album was followed by “Garrh Tanee” which was released in 2003 and boosted her continues success.

The 39-year-old superstar is considered as one of Egypt’s and Middle East’s most talented voices.
