Veteran Egyptian singer Sherine Wagdy is all set to make her much-awaited musical comeback after a 16-year break.
The singer will make her comeback by performing the theme song of renewed actress Laila Elwy‘s new TV series “Donia Tanya”, which is set to screen during the Ramadan 2022 drama marathon.
In an interview with "ET Bil Arabi", Wagdy has opened up about the reason behind her comeback.
The singer noted that she had extremely liked the series as well as had felt the lyrics and composition.
She disclosed that all the cast and crew of the series had supported her, noting one of the stars who encouraged her to make her comeback was actor Ramez Galal.
"We had a phone call two months ago, to help me resume singing again," Wagdy continued.
"I love drawing and the hobby compensated absence of singing in the last period," she added.
Wagdy had previously disclosed the reason behind her absence from the entertainment industry was due to the circumstances that her family had experienced and the legal problems that faced her husband.
The singer's last released music was the 2006 album, "Layali Hayati".
The series “Donia Tania” is composed by Amr Mostafa and by the lyrics of Mustafa Nasser, who had written a second song for Wagdy in the series.
