Egyptian superstar Sherine Abdel-Wahab is planning a major comeback to the music industry after a period of absence.

In a telephone interview with Amr Adib during his program “Al-Hekaya”, on the satellite channel “MBC Masr” on Sunday evening, the hitmaker outlined her comeback strategy to the music scene with a clear plan, aiming to regularly release new singles until the end of the summer.

The strategy was adopted last week with her latest single, "El Hodn Shok."

The track, released on Friday, is written and composed by Aziz El Shafei, with music distributor Hatem Abdel Aziz (Touma) handling the distribution, mixing and mastering.

The 44-year-old artist added she plans to release a new track every two days, expressing her longing to sing after her long hiatus.

Sherine explained that she is preparing to undertake several artistic projects in the coming period, indicating her desire to present a different experience, one fueled by renewed energy that she intends to maintain in the future.

She also reflected on her relationship with singing, clarifying that it is not merely a profession for her, but rather an integral part of her identity.

Sherine is also teaming up with superstar Mohamed Hamaki on a duet, which is featured on his long- anticipated album and has already been recorded.

Sherine and Mohamed Hamaki

Born on October 8, 1980, Sherine Sayed Mohamed Abdel Wahab, known professionally as simply Sherine, was first discovered as a child by her school music teacher, who convinced her mother to take her to the Cairo Opera House to meet veteran musician Selim Sahab.

She served as a choral member at the Cairo Opera House from the age of nine to twelve and was then given a chance to become a solo singer.

Sherine kept performing at the Cairo Opera House while searching for a music producer to launch her music career.

At the age of 18, she was introduced to director and music producer Nasr Mahrous, who liked her voice and decided to collaborate with her via his “Free Music” production company, where she met with superstar Tamer Hosny, who was also a new talent-seeking opportunity. Her first recorded song was released in 2002 as part of an album that included works of other artists.

The album was released under the title “Free Mix3: Tamer and Sherine” and was a big hit all across the Middle East and North Africa.

It sold more than 20 million copies across the MENA, particularly because of her single “Ah ya Leil”, which boosted her fame.
