Egyptian superstar Sherine Abdel-Wahab is engaged to a man from outside showbiz.

In a statement on Tuesday, Sherine noted she is living a love story with her fiancé, and is all set to sign Aqd qiran soon.

Aqd qiran is an Islamic marriage contract that is considered an integral part of an Islamic marriage and outlines the rights and responsibilities of the groom and bride or other parties involved in marriage proceedings under Shariah.

"My fiancé does not like to make media appearances and prefers to remain anonymous, a decision that I greatly respect," she added.

The acclaimed singer affirmed that she will announce the date when it is set.

This will be Sherine's fourth time to be married. The acclaimed singer got married for the first time to the music composer Medhat Khamis before splitting up.

In 2007, she remarried composer and music arranger Muhammad Mustafa before ending their marriage in 2012. They share two daughters, Maryam and Hannah.

Sherine married fellow singer Hossam Habib for the third time in 2018. They divorced in 2021 and remarried for the second time in 2022 before divorcing for the final time after five years of marriage in 2023.

Born on October 8, 1980, Sherine is one of Egypt and the Middle East's most talented female singers.

The acclaimed singer was first discovered as a child by her music teacher at school, who convinced her mother to take her to the Cairo Opera House to meet veteran musician Selim Sahab.

Sherine auditioned in front of him, who liked her voice a lot. The singer had served as a choral member at the Cairo Opera House from the age of nine to twelve, and then she was given a chance to become a solo singer.

She kept performing at the Cairo Opera House while looking for a music producer to launch her professional career.

Sherine, 18, was introduced to director and music producer Nasr Mahrous, who liked her talented voice and decided to collaborate with her via “Free Music” production company, where she met with superstar, Tamer Hosny, who was also a new talent seeking an opportunity at the time.

Her first recorded song was released in 2002 as a part of an album that included works of other artists. The album was released, under the title “Free Mix3: Tamer and Sherine” and was a big hit all across the entire Middle East and North Africa.

The record sold more than 20 Million copies across the whole MENA. It was a big hit, particularly because of her single “Ah ya Leil”, which boosted her fame.
