Egyptian superstar Sherine Abdel-Wahab is finally back in the studio and working on new music.

The hitmaker is making her return with new single "Ayza Ashteky wi Ashteky."

Composer Aziz El Shafei announced the exciting news on social media along with a video clip of himself with music distributor Hatem Abdel Aziz (Touma).

In the footage, Shafei expressed the fan's longing for Sherine, to which Touma stressed that the feeling was mutual.

The video also shows the 44-year-old artist performing a part of the track, her first new music after long absence.

Sherine had already begun preparing her new album, holding initial work sessions with several music producers as part of a plan to gradually resume her artistic activities in the coming period.

The project had been put on hold due to a recent health setback, making the clip a pleasant surprise for her fans.

The album is set to be released during the summer of 2026.

In the new album, Sherine collaborates with a slew of the most prominent figures in the music scene, including Aziz El Shafei, Amr Mostafa, Madian,  Tamer Hussein, and Touma. The album is expected to include a mix of romantic and dramatic songs, along with a number of fast-paced summer songs.

She is also teaming up with superstar Mohamed Hamaki on a duet, which is featured on his long- anticipated album and has already been recorded.

Sherine recently went viral after making a rare appearance on social media after a long absence.

The hitmaker took to TikTok to share a sweet video alongside her daughter Hana, sending warm Eid al-Fitr wishes to her fans.

In her latest appearance, Sherine wore comfortable loungewear, often referred to as "Eid pyjamas," and appearing relaxed and makeup free.

The mother-daughter duo even sang a verse from her hit song "Aktar w Aktar" (More and More), creating an atmosphere filled with joy and a warm family spirit.

The appearance reassured the singer’s fans about her health and psychological condition and brought her back into the spotlight after a period of silence that extended since her participation in the Mawazine Festival in Morocco last year.

Born on October 8, 1980, Sherine Sayed Mohamed Abdel Wahab, known professionally as simply Sherine, was first discovered as a child by her school music teacher, who convinced her mother to take her to the Cairo Opera House to meet veteran musician Selim Sahab.

She served as a choral member at the Cairo Opera House from the age of nine to twelve and was then given a chance to become a solo singer.

Sherine kept performing at the Cairo Opera House while searching for a music producer to launch her music career.

At the age of 18, she was introduced to director and music producer Nasr Mahrous, who liked her voice and decided to collaborate with her via his “Free Music” production company, where she met with superstar Tamer Hosny, who was also a new talent-seeking opportunity. Her first recorded song was released in 2002 as part of an album that included works of other artists.

The album was released under the title “Free Mix3: Tamer and Sherine” and was a big hit all across the Middle East and North Africa.

It sold more than 20 million copies across the MENA, particularly because of her single “Ah ya Leil”, which boosted her fame.
