Egyptian actor Sherif Mounir is no longer involved in Mai Omar and Maged El Masry's TV series "Ash Ash" due to creative differences.
The cast also includes Hala Sedki, Edward, Entesar, Ehab Fahmi, Tarek El-Nahry, Alaa Morsy, Shaimaa Saif, Dina, Mohamed El Sharnouby, and more.
"Ash Ash" consists of 30 episodes and features Omar in the lead role as a third-degree belly dancer.
The drama sees the actress teaming up once again with her husband, director Mohamed Sami in the upcoming project.
It marks the couple's ninth collaboration after "Hekayet Hayah" (2013), "Kalam Ala Waraq" (2014), "Al Ostora" (2016), "Tisbah ala Khair" (2017), "Weld Al Ghalaba" (2019), "Nasl El Aghrab" (2021), "Harley" (2023), and "Neama Al Avocato" (2024).
The 30-episode series features Omar as a third-degree belly dancer and is set to screen during the Ramadan 2025 drama marathon on the "MBC Masr" TV channel.
Mounir, born on May 14, 1959, enrolled in the acting department of the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts, following the advice of poet Salah Jahin.
He started his acting career in the mid-1980s, appearing in the TV series “Rihla El Milion” (Journey of a Million), “Bakeeza We Zaghloul,” and “Leyyali El Haleema” (Nights of El Helmeya).
In the film, he starred in several films such as “El Tawfaan” (The Flood), “Darbet Maalim” (Master Stroke), and “Abnaa’ Wa Kutla” (Children and Murderers).
Mounir got his big break in the 1990s when he played “Youssef” in the 1991 film “The Kit Kat.”
He has appeared since then in several hit films such as “Short Wa Fanila Wa Kab”, “Sihr El Layyali”, and “Welad El ‘Am”.
