"Shazam! Fury of the Gods" Release Date Moves to Avoid "Avatar 2"

The theatrical release of DC Films' “Shazam! Fury of the Gods”, the sequel to 2019’s “Shazam“, has moved from December 16 to December 21.

The decision comes to avoid sharing the release date with another long-awaited sequel "Avatar: The Way of Water".

The sequel sees practically the entire team behind  “Shazam!” reprising their roles, including stars Asher Angel, Zachary Levi, Djimon Hounsou, and Jack Dylan Grazer.

It also stars Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Grace Fulton, Jovan Armand, Meagan Good, Ross Butler, and D.J. Cotrona.

Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, and Rachel Zegler will also star in the sequel.

Filmmaker David F. Sandberg directed from a script by Henry Gayden, who wrote the original movie.

“Shazam! Fury of the Gods” is set to debut on June 2, 2023.
