Sharon Stone to Play Villain in DC Movie "Blue Beetle"

American actress Sharon Stone is set to join the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) in Warner Bros.’s "Blue Beetle".

She will play the villainous Victoria Kord, an original character made for the movie.

The project also features Xolo Maridueña, who plays Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle and Raoul Max Trujillo as the antagonist, Carapax the Indestructible Man.

"Blue Beetle" also stars Harvey Guillén, Belissa Escobedo, and Brazilian star Bruna Marquezine.

Despite Victoria Kord being an original character, her last name certainly rings a bell for the man who donned the alien suit before Reyes was Ted Kord, a genius scientist and occasional member of the Justice League.

The upcoming movie marks the first live-action feature to be made about a Latinx character by Latinx filmmakers as well as the latest DC superhero to make come to big screens.

"Blue Beetle" is directed by Angel Manuel Soto and written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer.

This isn't the first time Stone plays a villain in a DC movie. In 2004, Stone starred in the Halle Berry-led Catwoman movie as the feline's main adversary.

"Blue Beetle" debuts in theaters on August 18, 2023.
