Egyptian band Sharmoofers will perform live at the first edition of the New Alamein Festival in North Coast, Egypt, on Saturday, September 2.
The festival will run from July 13 to August 26, under the title "Alalam Alamein" (Alamein World). It is the largest entertainment event in the Middle East and will bring together the best of art, sports, and entertainment.
The programme brings together the best of art, sports, and entertainment, starting with concerts for local, Arab, and international artists to sporting events featuring international teams. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of exhibitions and food stalls.
The festival boasted a lineup of top-notch singers such as Mohamed Mounir, Hamid El Shaeri, Tamer Hosny, Angham, Elissa, Haifa Wehbe, Ragheb Alama, Nancy Ajram, Carole Samaha, Bahaa Sultan, US rapper Russell Vitale, Omar Khairat, Medhat Saleh, Reham Abd Elhakim, Tamer Ashour, Ahmed Saad, Abu, and Emirati-Yemeni singer-actress Balqees Fathi.
It also includes acts of rock bands such as Massar Egbari and Cairokee.
The New Alamein Festival comprises 12 activities, including a global fashion show by the top 10 fashion designers in the Arab world, a beach football championship, RC aircraft shows, a rowing championship, and an international badminton championship, among other events.
It targets boosting tourism and entertainment for tourists and Egyptians in this area to upgrade the city to be an international spot for tourism. The festival is expected to draw one million visitors.
