Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport on Sunday received the first flight from Poland, since the suspension of air traffic due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The flight carried 189 tourists.

Airport officials and a number of security leaders received the tourists and distributed roses and gifts to them.

The civil aviation authority in Sharm El Sheik airport stressed that the precautionary and preventive measures were strictly implemented in the airport, pointing out to the presence of thermal cameras to detect the temperature of passengers and stickers for social spacing as well as guidelines for passengers to ensure the safety of travelers and workers.

It also added that all the foreign tourists’ belongings and personal luggage were sterilized, affirming that the airports appeared in a decent and honorable manner.

It is worth mentioning that, EgyptAir resumed direct flights on Wednesday, July 1, after a nearly four-month hiatus.

The International Council for Tourism and Travel (ICTT) in June granted Egypt the “Safe Travel Stamp” after approving the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ health safety regulations to receive foreign tourism.

The areas that will open for foreign tourists in the first stage are South Sinai, where the popular seaside resort of Sharm El-Sheikh is located, the Red Sea governorate, home to the city of Hurghada, and Marsa Matrouh on the Mediterranean.
