As part of its mission to safeguard cultural heritage and foster human dialogue, the Sharjah Institute for Heritage held a session at its pavilion during the Cairo International Book Fair 2026, spotlighting the Sharjah International Award for Cultural Heritage.
The session, titled “The Sharjah International Award for Cultural Heritage: Cultural Heritage and Human Dialogue,” was presented by Aisha Al Hassani Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the Award, and moderated by Menni Bounama, Director of the Institute’s Content Department. Attended by researchers and heritage experts, the discussion outlined the award’s objectives, its three main fields and nine categories, and its role in honoring living human treasures and heritage expertise locally, regionally, and internationally.
Organizers also announced that nominations for the sixth edition of the award are open until March 20, 2026.
