Sharjah Art Foundation is set to present the eighth edition of the Sharjah Film Platform (SFP) as part of its Fall 2025 program, running from November 14 to 23. Screenings will take place at Mirage City Cinema—an open-air venue in Sharjah’s historical district—and at VOX Cinemas in City Centre Al Zahia.
This year’s edition features a bold and diverse lineup, showcasing voices from Zambia, Ecuador, Malta, Lebanon, Palestine, the UAE, and beyond. The core of SFP remains its Film Competition, which includes 27 films—documentary and narrative—selected by an international jury of filmmakers and critics. The festival opens with BAB, a fantasy drama by Emirati director Nayla Al Khaja, and includes highlights such as Karisa (2024) and Put Your Soul in Your Hand and Walk (2025).
The program also celebrates the legacy of Lebanese filmmaker Jocelyne Saab and introduces First Screenings, a new platform for UAE-based student filmmakers to debut their works and engage in dialogue about the future of cinema in the region.
