Egyptian actor Mohamed Emam's remake of the 1991 cult film "Shams elzanaty", which starred his father, prominent Egyptian actor, “El Zaeem” Adel Imam, has received a title.

The film is now called "Shams elzanaty – Al Bedaya" and has seen a slew of creative changes including Khaled Anwar being tapped as a replacement for Taha Desouky after the latter had to part ways with the film due to being busy with another project.

Set during WW2, "Shams elzanaty" follows an oasis village being attacked frequently by a group of robbers, led by a marshal. The village's old man Sheikh Othman travels to Cairo, Egypt, to buy weapons and men, Shams Elzanaty and his fellows, to fight back.

It also included Mahmoud Hemeida, Sawsan Badr, Mustafa Metwalli, Abdullah Mahmoud, Ahmad Maher, Ibrahim Nasr, Roshdy El Mahdy, Aly Abdel Raheem, Noha El Amroussy, Saeed Tarabeek, and more.

The remake serves as a follow-up to the original film and will be the biggest film in the history of Arab cinema. It is scripted by Mohamed El Dabbah, directed by Amr Salama, and produced by Aka Production Company.

The 1991 film starred Adel Emam as Shams elzanaty, Ahmed Maher as Abdo Qarans, Ibrahim Nasr as Jaidi, Mostafa Metwally as Sayed Saberto, Mahmoud El Gendy as Salama Al-Tafshan, Sawsan Badr as Henna, Mahmoud Hamida as Marshal Borai, and Rushdi El Mahdi as the Sheikh.

"Shams elzanaty – Al Bedaya" features Mohamed Imam as Shams elzanaty, Khaled Anwar as Salama Al-Tafshan, Ahmed Khaled Saleh as Abdo Qarans, Mostafa Gharieb as Jaidi, and Ahmed Abdel Hameed as Sayed Saberto.

Characters from the first film, such as Henna, Marshal Borai, and Sheikh will not be present in the remake.
