SEE Presents Group C Preliminary Squads in AFCON

The whole African continent is on tenterhooks for one of the prominent football events that happen once every two years. With only seventeen-days to go before the 2019 African cup of nations starts. SEE highlights Preliminary Squads, Group C.

Air Defence Stadium is set to host the first round of group (C), which includes Senegal, Algeria, Kenya, and Tanzania,

Senegal and Algeria named their final squad, while Kenya announced their 32 - man Preliminary squad. Tanzania's coach has not announced his 23- man squad yet. Tanzania and Kenya must submit their final squads before the beginning of the AFCON.

It is worth mentioning that Egypt will host the African Cup of Nation from 21 June to 19 July. The hosts will play the opening match against Zimbabwe on 21 June at the Cairo stadium.

Here are the squads of group C

Senegal coach Aliou Cissé named his 23-man squad for the AFCON. The squad includes some prominent players such as Liverpool star Sadio Mane, Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, and Crystal Palace midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate.

The Teranga Lions will play their first match against Tanzania on 23 June at Air Defence stadium.

The 23-man squad is as follows:

Algeria 23 -man squad

Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi announced his 23-man squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

The list of the Algerian coach includes only one locally- based player Hicham Boudaoui. The 19- year old plays for Paradou. The squad also includes Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez.

Although the Desert Warriors won the title only once, they are still one of the strongest candidates to claim this 2019’s AFCON.

Belmadi’s men will play their first match against Kenya on June 23 at 10:00 CLT at the Air Defence Stadium.

Algeria squad:

Goalkeepers: Rais M’Bolhi (El Etifaq, Saudi Arabia), Azzedine Doukha (Al Raed, Saudi Arabia), Alexandre Oukidja (Metz FRA).

Kenya 32 - man Preliminary squad is as follows:

Kenya's coach Sebastien Migne named his 32-man Preliminary squad for the upcoming AFCON in Egypt. Kenya is set to face Algeria on 23 June.

Goalkeepers: Patrick Matasi (St. Georges, Ethiopia), Faruk Shikhalo (Bandari FC, Kenya), John Oyemba (Kariobangi Sharks, Kenya).

Tanzania

Former FC Barcelona wing player and the current coach of Tanzania national team Emmanuel Amunike has not announced his 23- man squad yet for the upcoming AFCON. It is worth noting that it will be their second participation in this tournament since they qualified in 1980.
