Sada Elbad English (SEE) organized and conducted a seminar for the stunning Egyptian actress and the well-known anchor Nada Bassiouny.
The Egyptian actress looked in good spirits at the event where she was honoured for her seminal and distinguished contributions to the entertainment and media industry.
Bassiouny, who is best known for her role as Qout Elqloub in the Arabian Nights series, donned a white long-sleeved top for the seminar, which she paired with a yellow suit.
The gorgeous actress, who is also known for starring in the ‘Hawanem Garden city’ (The Ladies of Garden City) series as Soaad Kazim, told SEE that she will star in "Saher Elnesa’," which is set to premiere this year.
At the end of the seminar, SEE Editor in chief Mohamed Wadie, who moderated the event, awarded a shield of appreciation to Bassiouny in recognition of her distinguished efforts in the information and media fields.
The seminar was replete with observations, revelations, and plenty of candid comments.
Below are the excerpts of the SEE interview with Bassiouny:
You may now be involved in multiple projects, but you have conspicuously been absent from the golden screen over the past decade. Considering that series offers must have been coming your way, why did you retreat into the shadows?
Bassiouny: With all due respect to the medium, I just don’t think I am cut out for TV.
It was important for me to take some time out because while the series, movies, and TV shows I was offered were good, they lacked a certain entertainment value that is imperative to series making.
Moreover, I have stepped out of the spotlight and taken time away from the media because my mother had cancer. At that time, I used to travel all over and tour with her in a bid to cure her cancer and get the efficient doctors to end it all.
Indeed, my mother's health issues forced me into a “long absence" from the silver screen and celebrated career on stage and TV screen, but nowadays I use my time for self-improvement.
Have you ever wondered which character you would play in Shakespeare Drama? While there are endless possibilities and each Shakespeare Drama has its own variation of character types, there are some certain tropes that are present in any drama and all in whichever way, shape, or form. Which of these would you embody?
Bassiouny: "I would love to portray and play the Lady Macbeth role in Shakespeare's play. Actually, I performed acting roles written by Shakespeare in the Art Academy and community plays."
What do you want to grow up to be in the future?
Bassiouny: An actress and TV anchor needs to win the audience's respect. I want to conduct many interviews with well-known figures, share stories that need to be heard, as well as do more good works to leave more roles and create good characters for the world. That's what I should do in the future.
