A few weeks before the "Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs" exhibition concludes its journey in Cologne, Germany, and begins preparations for packaging and transfer to its next destination in Tokyo, Japan, Mohamed Ismail, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, visited the exhibition.

During his tour, Ismail met with numerous visitors who had traveled from various German cities to see the exhibition. They expressed their admiration for the display and the artifacts it showcases, which narrate the history of Egypt's ancient civilization. Many visitors stated that the masterpieces of ancient Egyptian art and the unique artifacts in the exhibition have increased their desire to visit Egypt to see the tombs and temples from which these treasures originated.

Ismail also held several media interviews with German outlets, inviting the German public to visit the exhibition before it concludes in Germany. He described the exhibition as Egypt's gift to the German people during the Christmas and New Year holidays, offering German families a great opportunity to delve deeper into ancient Egyptian civilization. He also highlighted the exhibition as a means of promoting cultural tourism and attracting more German tourists to Egypt to explore its unparalleled archaeological treasures.

Ismail expressed his happiness with the significant success the exhibition has achieved in Cologne, having welcomed over 150,000 visitors since its opening in mid-July. He commended the efforts made to ensure the exhibition's success, including its organization, display design, and visitor pathways, while praising the German people's passion for ancient Egyptian civilization.

The "Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs" exhibition features approximately 180 artifacts selected from the collection of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, dating back to the era of King Ramses II. It also includes the sarcophagus of King Ramses II from the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, as well as other artifacts discovered by the Egyptian mission in the Bubasteion area of Saqqara. Additionally, the exhibition displays items from various other Egyptian museums, showcasing unique aspects of ancient Egyptian civilization from the Middle Kingdom to the Late Period. These include statues, jewelry, cosmetic tools, stelae, inscribed stone blocks, and colorful wooden coffins.

The exhibition began its journey in November 2021 in Houston, followed by its second stop in August 2022 in San Francisco, USA. Its third stop was in Paris, France, in April 2023, before moving to the Sydney Museum in Australia in November 2023. It arrived in Cologne, Germany, in July 2023 and is set to conclude there in early January 2024.
