The movie furthers Stan's standing as an actor who portrays complicated and dark roles. He received critical praise for his role in the Hulu's "Fresh", in which he played a cannibal and human-meat trader who kidnaped women using a dating app and kept them chained in his house.
The movie is scripted by Lauryn Kahn and directed by Mimi Cave, who makes her feature film directorial debut after helming music videos for several years.
