The Screen Actors Guild Awards have set the date for their 32nd annual ceremony: Sunday, March 1, 2026.
The ceremony will take place during the final stretch of Academy Awards voting, further solidifying the SAG Awards as a major influence on the Oscar race.
Once again, the show will stream live on Netflix at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, continuing its partnership with the streaming giant that began in 2024.
The event will honor the year’s most outstanding performances in film and television, with winners selected by SAG-AFTRA’s more than 122,000 voting members, the largest voting body of any major awards organization.
The timing of the show is critical. Taking place just two weeks before the 97th Oscars, the SAG Awards serve as a bellwether for Oscar success, particularly in the acting categories, which often overlap with Academy voters.

Actors or their representatives may submit performances in any category they deem appropriate, provided the work aired or premiered between January 1 and December 31, 2025. All submissions must be made online via sagawards.org/submissions.
Nominations will be announced on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, setting the stage for what’s expected to be a highly competitive year across both film and television categories. Final voting opens Wednesday, January 14, and will close Friday, February 27, 2026, at noon PT, just two days before the live show.
The ceremony has long been considered one of the most significant indicators of awards momentum, particularly because it reflects how performers — the largest branch within the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences — are responding to their peers’ work. With Oscar final voting running from February 26 to March 5, 2026, any standout wins at the SAG Awards could sway undecided voters in key acting races.
