"Scream 6" to Hit Theaters 3 Weeks Early in March 2023

The next movie in the Scream franchise is arriving a little early.

Paramount Pictures has moved the release date of "Scream 6" from March 31 to March 10, 2023.

The upcoming installment will contend on its new opening day with the Focus Features drama Inside, starring Willem Dafoe, and the sci-fi movie "65" starring Adam Driver, Chloe Coleman, and Ariana Greenblatt.

The sixth installment in the horror franchise from Spyglass Media and Paramount will follow Sam (Melissa Barrera), Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown), Chad (Mason Gooding), and Tara (Jenna Ortega) — the four survivors of the most recent batch of Ghostface killings in the fifth movie.—  leave Woodsboro for a fresh start. 

The movie will feature Courteney Cox returning as the iconic news reporter character, Gale Weathers, and Hayden reprising her “Scream 4” role of Kirby Reed — the lone teenage survivor of the Second Woodsboro Murders in the fourth installment.

It will also introduce newcomers Dermot Mulroney, Samara Weaving, Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda, Josh Segarra, Henry Czerny, and Tony Revolori.

Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who helmed the latest installment, return as directors. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick co-wrote the screenplay, with Project X Entertainment’s Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak serving as producers.

The franchise creator Kevin Williamson and Radio Silence’s third member, Chad Villella, are exec producing alongside Spyglass’ Gary Barber and Peter Oillataguerre, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad, and Marianne Maddalena.
