"Scream 5" Gets Digital Release Date

Paramount Home Entertainment announced Monday the fifth installment of the “Scream” franchise has received multiple at-home viewing release dates.

The acclaimed sequel to Scream 4 will be available in Digital release on March 1 and on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD on April 5.

The 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD editions will come with bonus content and a special two-movie collection that features the original 1996 Scream and the 2022 movie.

It will also include commentary from the “Ready or Not” duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, and from screenwriters James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.

The bonus content also features interviews with the remaining survivors of the 1996’s "Scream": Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette, as well as a tribute to horror master Wes Craven, who directed all previous installments from the franchise and passed away in 2015.

The new installment takes place twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer takes the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.

The movie sees the return of many beloved characters such as Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott, Courteney Cox’s Gale Weathers, and David Arquette’s Deputy Dewey Riley.

It also features newcomers Jack Quaid, Melissa Barrera, Dylan Minnette, Mason Gooding, Kyle Gallner, Sonia Ammar, Mikey Madison, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Reggie Conquest.

Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett directed from a script by Vanderbilt and Busick.

The latest installment is also produced by Vanderbilt, Chad Villella, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak.

The original Scream screenwriter Kevin Williamson will also serve as an executive producer.
