Renowned Egyptian actress Sawsan Badr has recently joined the cast of actor Amr Youssef's upcoming TV Series "Al Fransawy" ("The French").
The drama consists of 10 episodes and hails from Adam Abd ElGhaffar. Wissam Seif El-Islam's Cairo Films is the banner behind the project.
It marks Youssef's comeback to the small screen after a 3-year absence. He made his last appearance in the 2023 TV series "The 101 Battalion".
"Al Fransawy" is set to debut sometime in 2026 on the "Yango Play" platform.

Badr will be seen next in the star-studded TV series "El Set Mona Lisa".
The series also boasts a cast that includes Mai Omar, Ahmed Magdy, Injy El Mokkaddem, Mariam El Gendy, Shimaa Seif, Mohamed Mahmoud, Jory Bakr, Wafaa Amer, and more.
The drama consists of 15 episodes and hails from director Mohamed Ali and scriptwriter Mohamed Sayed Bashir.
The official logline for the series reads:" When Monalisa says 'I do,' she bets on forever. But in Cairo, the honeymoon fades fast: a self-serving husband, a family eyeing her dowry, and love traded for gains. This marriage comes with strings attached."
"El Set Mona Lisa" is set to screen on "MBC Masr" TV Channel and Shahid during the Ramadan 2026 drama marathon.
Badr participated last Ramadan with the TV series “Athena”.
Rounding out the cast are Riham Hagag, Ahmed Magdy, Nabil Eissa, Mahmoud Kabil, Salwa Mohamed Ali, Omar El Said, Jana Ashkar, and Tamer Hashem.
Written by Ayman Salama and directed by Yahya Ismail, the drama sheds light on the impact of social media and analyzes its negative effects.

Born on September 25, 1957, Badr, real name Suzan Abu Taleb, is a film, stage, and television actress. She graduated from the High Institute of Theatrical Arts in 1979, after discontinuing her studies in the faculty of science.
Badr appeared in many theater productions, including “Al Wad Sayyid Al Shaghal.”
She got her start in the 1980 British film “Mot Amira” (Death of a Princess) by British director Antony Thomas.
The actress delivered a memorable performance in her second role in the 1980 film “Habibi Da’iman” (Always My Love) directed by Hussein Kamel.
Badr won the Best Actress Award for the play “Al Ard La Tanbit Al Zuhur”, and for her role in the TV series “Dawlat Fahmy” as well as many international awards for her role in “Al Dawair Al Mughlaqa” in 2001.
She received the Best Actress Award at the 34th Cairo International Film Festival.
Badr was cast to play Nefertiti in Shady Abdel Salaam’s film about Akhnaton, though the great director passed away before finishing the movie.
