Renowned Egyptian actress Sawsan Badr has recently boarded the cast of the TV series "Bent Wedad."
Led by Hannah El Zahed, the cast also stars Mohamed Alaa, Passant Shawky, and more.
It is scripted by Ahmed Adel, directed by Muhammad Bakir, and produced by Maha Selim.
"Bent Wedad" consists of 10 episodes and is set to screen during the off-season.
Badr was recently seen in the legal drama "Al Fransawy" ("The Frenchman").
The cast also includes Amr Youssef, Jamal Soliman, Enjy Kiwan, Ahmed Fouad Selim, Jana Ashkar, and more. It also features a special appearance from Tunisian actress Aïcha Ben Ahmed.
The series consists of 10 episodes and hails from writer and director Adam Abd ElGhaffar. It is co-produced by Eagle Films and the Yango Play platform.
"Al Fransawy" marks Youssef's comeback to the small screen after a 3-year absence. He made his last appearance in the 2023 TV series "The 101 Battalion."
Born on September 25, 1957, Badr, real name Suzan Abu Taleb, is a film, stage, and television actress. She graduated from the High Institute of Theatrical Arts in 1979 after discontinuing her studies in the faculty of science.
Badr appeared in many theater productions, including “Al Wad Sayyid Al Shaghal.”
She got her start in the 1980 British film “Mot Amira” (Death of a Princess) by British director Antony Thomas.
The actress delivered a memorable performance in her second role in the 1980 film “Habibi Da’iman” (Always My Love), directed by Hussein Kamel.
Badr won the Best Actress Award for the play “Al Ard La Tanbit Al Zuhur”, and for her role in the TV series “Dawlat Fahmy” as well as many international awards for her role in “Al Dawair Al Mughlaqa” in 2001.
She received the Best Actress Award at the 34th Cairo International Film Festival.
Badr was cast to play Nefertiti in Shady Abdel Salaam’s film about Akhnaton, though the great director passed away before finishing the movie.
