The first poster for Lionsgate’s "Saw X" has been unveiled and it is terrifying people online, with fans trying to figure out how the new trap works.

The poster was shared by the official franchise's Twitter with the caption: “Welcome back to the game. Saw X – only in theaters September 29.”

It featured a new figure with a torture device strapped onto their face. The device is a pair of goggles with two large tubes attached to the eye holes. They are also seen screaming while the two tubes are crossed forming an “X”.

The Saw franchise is known for the elaborate traps both Jigsaw and other killers use to torture and kill people throughout the franchise. Some of the most infamous traps include the bathroom in "Saw", the scalping chair from "Saw IV", and the reverse bear trap seen in multiple movies.

Fans shared their reactions to the poster. One user tweeted: “Not sure what is happening in this poster but holy s--t it’s scary,” while another shared: “God imagine if they put bugs in those tubes….”

Another fan commented: “This is gonna be hella nasty,” while a user said: “That thing looks like it’s ready to suck his guts out.”

In Twisted Pictures’ next entry, John Kramer (Tobin Bell) is back, and it’s the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s final games.

Set between the events of Saw I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable.

The infamous serial killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged and ingenious traps.

Kevin Greutert directed off a screenplay by Peter Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg. Mark Burg and Oren Koules are producing.

The Saw franchise has minted over $1 billion at the global box office.

While New Line’s "The Nun 2" is set to open in the post-Labor Day weekend frame, "Saw X" will hit theaters before other big fall horror pics: Universal/Blumhouse/Morgan Creek’s "Exorcist: The Believer" on October 13 and Uni/Blumhouse’s "Five Night on Freddy‘s", which is going theatrical day-and-date October 27 on Peacock.
