'Sara's Birthday' Selected as AIWFF Opening Film

Aswan International Women's Film Festival announced selecting "Sara's Birthday" to be the opening film of the 7th edition.

"Sara's Birthday" is directed by the Egyptian director Yasser Shafiey, and it was produced by Plan International Egypt and the National Council for Women.

The 40-min short stars Ramy AlTunbary, Hadeel Hassan, Lobna Wanas, Mohamed Youssef, and Farida Hamdy. 

The upcoming edition of AIWFF will take place between March 5, and 10, and it will be organized by the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Aswan Governorate, the European Union, and the National Council for Women.

61 films will take part at the festival for the official competition, alongside the 10 films in the Feature Film Competition,18 in the Short Film Competition, 5 in the Egyptian Film Competition, and 7 in our and the Ministry of Solidarity’s Films of Impact Competition, there are 11 AIWFF Workshops Films produced entirely by participants.

12 children’s films were also selected to screen as part of our Children’s Film Program.
