Cairo-based filmmaker Karim Shaaban's short film "I Don’t Care If the World Collapses", is set to screen at the 30th edition of Palm Springs International Film Festival ShortFest, held at the Regal Palm Springs from June 18-24.
The short film stars Salma Abu Deif, Emad Rashad, Amir Salaheldin, Emad El Tayeb, and more.
Shaaban direct the pic from a script by Wael Hamdy. Guacamole Studio’s Productions is the studio behind the film.
The official synopsis reads: "A dilemma ensues when a career-driven line Producer finds herself in a position where she has to choose between the job responsibility and being a human being, trying to save the one-day commercial shoot from collapsing."

The selection marks another significant milestone for the film after its world premiere at the 48th Cleveland International Film Festival.
The festival will include 310 live-action, animated, and documentary shorts with projects involving talent including Francesca Scorsese, Bella Thorne, Emma D’Arcy, Rory Culkin, Yvonne Strahovski, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Juried award winners will be announced June 23, from the official selection, which includes five Academy Award-qualifying awards and cash prizes totaling $25,000.
The Best of the Fest shorts will be screened on the final day, June 24, and will also be available virtually from July 10-14.
This year’s categories, which each have their group of jury members, include Oscar-qualifying awards, student short awards and special jury awards.
