Egyptian actress Sahar El Sayegh has signed on to star in the crime thriller TV series "Ladam Kafiat El Adela" ("For Insufficient Evidence).
The drama hails from director Ahmed Hassan and scriptwriters Shady Asaad and Ibrahim Rabie.
The show consists of 15 episodes and highlights cases inspired by true crimes that were once closed due to a lack of evidence and have been reopened. Each case will be adapted into a 3-part story.
Principal photography is set to commence soon.
El Sayegh made her last onscreen appearance on the small screen in the star-studded TV series "Hakim Basha".
The drama is a Saidi genre hailing from scriptwriter Mohamed al-Shawaf and features Shaban embodying a man from Upper Egypt for the first time.
The cast also includes Mostafa Shaban, Dina Fouad, Ryad El Khouly, Salwa Khattab, Monther Rayahnah, Ahmed Fouad Selim, Salwa Osman, Mohamed Nagaty, Ahmad Seyam, Hagar Elsharnouby, Mohammad Adel, Fotouh Ahmed, and more.

“Al Moalem" screened during the Ramadan 2025 drama marathon.
It marked another collaboration between El Sayegh and Shaban after “Baba Al Magal," and "Al Moalem."
Sayegh, born on January 1, 1990, began acting in TV productions when she was a child, thee most famous is her portrayal of the young legendary actress in 1999's "UmmKulthum". The role was a big break in the acting field.
She graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry and is still practicing the profession alongside her acting career but she does not have a private clinic.
Sayegh confirmed in one of her meetings that she will not leave her profession as a doctor in the future and will work to open her clinic, in addition to acting.
