Disney+ has greenlit a new docuseries starring Marvel alums Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman and their work as the co-owners of the Bonds Flying Roos, an Australian sailing team, through the SailGP Championship.

The official description for the currently untitled series reads, “Australia’s fastest sailors travel the globe to face elite rivals while onboarding world-famous owners Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds into SailGP, led on the water by driver and CEO Tom Slingsby: an Olympic gold medallist, America’s Cup winner, three-time SailGP champion and one of the most decorated sailors in history.

“This is our first collaboration since ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ and we once again anticipate action, comedy, heart but with a lot more water,” Reynolds and Jackman said in a statement. “And (fingers crossed) pirates. We hope there’s pirates in SailGP.”

The Rolex SailGP Championship features national teams on identical high-tech, high-speed 50-foot foiling catamarans sailing all over the world at speeds exceeding 60 miles per hour and competing for a prize of $12.8 million dollars.

Reynolds and Jackman’s series adds to a growing slate of docuseries at Disney following celebrities and the sports teams they own.

The trend began with “Welcome to Wrexham” on FX, which follows Reynolds and Rob Mac’s ownership of the Welsh soccer team Wrexham AFC.

Also on FX is “Nexaca,” following Eva Longoria’s ownership of the Mexican soccer team of the same name, featuring Reynolds and Mac as additional investors and executive producers.

Mac will also executive produce the sailing series through his More Better Productions banner.

The series is produced by Maximum Effort and Eureka Productions in partnership with SailGP and the Bonds Flying Roos team, with Brent Hodge serving as director and showrunner.

“Following Ryan, Hugh, and the SailGP’s Bonds Flying Roos Australian team’s journey gives us a remarkable inside view of this thrilling sport and what it takes to compete at the highest level. We couldn’t be more excited to bring this story to Disney+ audiences around the world,” said Eric Schrier, Disney Television Studios’ president of direct-to-consumer international originals, strategic programming, and emerging media.
