In a celebratory atmosphere marking World Space Day, the Russian House in Cairo organized an official visit to the headquarters of the Egyptian Space Agency, with the participation of Youth Club members, to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the first human spaceflight.

The delegation was headed by Dr. Vadim Zaychikov, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt. Participants laid wreaths at the statue of Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, honoring his historic achievement as the first human to travel into space.

In his remarks, Zaychikov stressed that Gagarin’s journey was not merely a scientific milestone, but a transformative moment in human history that paved the way for the era of space exploration. He also expressed Russia’s appreciation for Egypt’s interest in preserving the legacy of the Soviet space program and strengthening cooperation in this vital field.

The delegation was received by Dr. Ayman Ahmed, Senior Space Programs Director at the Egyptian Space Agency, who highlighted the importance of such visits in promoting international cooperation and the exchange of expertise in the space sector.

The visit included a guided tour of the agency’s headquarters, where the delegation was introduced to Egypt’s latest space projects and the country’s ongoing efforts to advance this strategic industry.
