In cooperation with Egypt’s Ministry of Culture, the Russian Cultural Center in Cairo, hosted a special musical evening at the Arab Music Institute to mark World Music Day.

The celebration featured young outstanding musicians from the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation, drawing an audience that included Dr. Vadim Zaitchikov, head of Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, members of the Russian Embassy in Cairo, and Dr. Ibrahim Kamel, chairman of the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association.

The program highlighted the talents of rising stars Maria Belokopytova (piano), Yekaterina Naidenova (flute), and Emilia Aslanova (cello), who performed a selection of classical works by Bach, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Rachmaninoff, and Tchaikovsky. Their performance, organizers said, underscored the universal power of music to transcend cultural barriers and bring people together.

In his remarks at the event, Zaitchikov expressed gratitude to the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, the Cairo Opera House, and the Arab Music Institute for their collaboration. “Music unites people across continents and remains far removed from politics, preserving its essential message as a language of understanding and friendship,” he said. “We are confident that classical music will further strengthen the bonds between the Russian and Egyptian peoples.”

Zaitchikov noted that the celebration was part of Russia’s global cultural activities marking 100 years of Russian public diplomacy. He described the evening as “a gift to all music lovers on World Music Day,” observed annually on October 1.

He also hailed the Arab Music Institute’s historic theater, calling it “an architectural gem” and highlighting the joy it brought to young Russian musicians to perform on such a distinguished stage.

The event concluded with Zaitchikov congratulating the young performers from the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation for their artistry, while voicing hope for continued cultural cooperation with Egypt and more celebrations tied to the centennial of Russian public diplomacy.
