The Russian Cultural Center in Cairo hosted a distinguished art exhibition titled “Egypt and Russia Through Young Eyes,” organized in cooperation with the Directorate of Education in Qalyubia Governorate. The exhibition featured first- and second-year preparatory students from Hassan Abu Bakr Official Language School and Asmaa Preparatory School for Girls, affiliated with the Qanater El Khayriya Educational Administration.

The event was attended by Vadim Zaitchikov, Director of Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, alongside several educational and artistic leaders, including Dr. Wafi El-Sharkawy, General Supervisor of Art Education in Qalyubia; Dr. Mohamed Ishaq, former Dean of the Faculty of Art Education at Helwan University; Dr. Karam Massad, Head of the Jewelry and Metals Department at the Faculty of Art Education; as well as school principals and representatives of the Russian House in Cairo.

The exhibition showcased nearly 100 diverse artworks, including acrylic paintings, wooden sculptures, collage, and decoupage pieces. The works were supervised by visual artists Noha Gomaa and Samar El-Gendy, who guided students in artistically expressing their vision of Egyptian-Russian relations through a contemporary creative lens.

Vadim Zaitchikov expressed his admiration for the high artistic level displayed, noting that the students presented remarkable works reflecting awareness of Russian culture and history despite their young age—highlighting the success of cultural and educational cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, Dr. Wafi El-Sharkawy emphasized that hosting the exhibition represents an important step in supporting young artistic talents, adding that such events strengthen cultural bridges and open new horizons for artistic exchange between Egypt and Russia.

Artist Noha Gomaa praised the students’ ability to convey the depth of Egyptian-Russian relations in the first outcome of cooperation with the Russian Cultural Center, while artist Samar El-Gendy highlighted the students’ strong determination and enthusiasm, which enabled them to complete the diverse artworks within a short period.

At the conclusion of the event, both school administrations expressed their aspiration to hold the exhibition annually, as it provides an important platform for showcasing students’ creativity and supporting their artistic ambitions within a framework of fruitful Egyptian-Russian cultural exchange.
