“Blue Berets” Band to Perform at Russian House Today

Russian band “Blue Berets” is set to perform at 7 pm on Sunday at the Tchaikovsky Theatre in Dokki.

The concert comes within the framework of the activities of the Year of Humanitarian Exchange between Russia and Egypt.

On his part, Marat Gatin, director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, expressed his extreme happiness to begin his period work in his new position with this grand celebration.

Moreover, Gatin asserted that this concert will allow the Egyptian public to get acquainted with one of the most important Russian military teams that has an honorable history.

The musical group, founded in 1937, is a part of the Russian Federation Ministry of Defence. They performed in the front rows from Stalingrad to Berlin.

In 1945, the members held a concert at the Reichstag building celebrating the victory.

“Blue Berets” toured many cities in Germany, the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Hungary and other European countries.

In 1994, the troupe, which received the Lenin Youth Prize and the German Arts Prize, was transferred from Germany.

Meanwhile, they held more than 100 concerts annually throughout Russia and abroad.
