Veteran Australian actor Russell Crowe is contemplating winding up his career in acting after four decades in the industry.
The 59-year-old star revealed at the 57th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, that he's considering retirement, according to Variety.
The Hollywood star made note of growing old in the business and contemplated the next step in his career.
“You are standing in front of the mirror, and go: ‘Who the f**k is that?’ I am in that period now. I will take Ridley Scott as my role model: he is still discovering new things in his work. Or I will just stop and you will never hear from me again," he told journalists at the festival.
"I haven’t decided what it’s going to be. These are two very valid choices.''
The Oscar winner shot to fame playing Maximus in the 2000 epic "Gladiator", directed by Ridley Scott.
He is also known for other movies such as Ron Howard's "A Beautiful Mind" (2001) and "Man of Steel".
