Angel Studios unveiled its CinemaCon presentation on Monday the first look at “Runner,” an action thriller from Scott Waugh that pairs Alan Ritchson and Owen Wilson in a familiar but sturdy setup: a desperate delivery, a ticking clock, and a violent criminal force closing in from every direction.
"Runner" follows Hank Malone, a high-end courier who has three hours to transport an organ to save a seven-year-old girl in need of an immediate transplant. The seemingly simple mission turns deadly when the leader of a notorious crime syndicate becomes hell-bent on claiming the organ.
Ritchson plays a former soldier pulled into a brutal chase after a critical medical delivery puts him in the crosshairs of a ruthless cartel.
Wilson will star as Ben, the medical courier that Ritchson is begrudgingly forced to transport and protect.
The ensemble also includes Rodrigo Santoro, Leila George, Kate Box, Peta Sergeant, Geraldine Hakewill, Cecilia Toussaint, and Scarlett Crabtree.
"Runner" is produced by Todd Garner (Broken Road Productions), Alan Ritchson (AllyCat Entertainment), Dan Spilo (Industry Entertainment), Mark Fasano (Nickel City Pictures), Jeffrey Greenstein (A Higher Standard) and Deborah Glover (G2 Dispatch). Lauren Gennawey of Broken Road Productions to act as Executive Producer.
"Runner" is set for a theatrical release on September 11, 2026. Watch the teaser trailer below.
