Ruby and Ahmed Fahmy's New Film Gets Title as Production Begins

Production has begun on Egyptian stars Ruby and Ahmed Fahmy's upcoming film under the title, "Aelit al Mexic".

The cast also includes Lebleba, Hatem Salah, Mohamed Osama, famously known as "Osos", and others.

The film revolves around al Mexic who is used to carrying out theft and smuggling alone without any help.

However, gets involved in a major operation that he needs the help of others to carry it out, but he discovers that those he chose are implicating him in bigger problems that threaten the success of the operation.

Hossam Soliman, in his directorial debut, is helming the pic from a screenplay by Ramy Ali and Amgad El Sharqawi.

The film is set to screen during the Eid al-Adha movie marathon.

Ruby was last seen in the film "Shalaby", starring Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz.

"Shalaby" also stars Bayoumi Fouad, Suleiman Eid, Hatem Salah, and others.

It is written by Mostafa Hamdy and directed by Peter Mimi.

The project is a romance and comedy that will feature musical numbers.

"Shalaby" sees Ruby as the owner of a hotel and Abdel Aziz as an employee at an amusement park. It follows the pair as they meet and fall while experiencing many surprising and comedic events.

"Shalaby" marks the third collaboration between Abdel Aziz and Mimi after 2019's film "Mousa" and 2022's film "For Zeko".
