British actress Rosamund Pike is the latest to join the cast of Lionsgate’s "Now You See Me 3", the upcoming installment of the magic heist franchise.
She’s among several newcomers to the franchise, following Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt. They join Now You See Me mainstays expected to return that includes Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman.
Details of Pike’s role are being kept under wraps. Louis Leterrier directed the first movie, which was released in 2013 and followed the Four Horsemen, a group of magicians known for their heist skills.
It earned $351.7 million globally and spawned a Jon M. Chu-directed sequel, released in 2016 which brought in $334.8 million globally.
"Venom" and "Uncharted" director Ruben Fleischer is helming from a script by Eric Warren Singer, Seth Grahame-Smith, and Mike Lesslie. Bobby Cohen and Alex Kurtzman are producing, with Meredith Wieck and Erin Jones-Wesley overseeing for Lionsgate.
Pike was recently nominated for BAFTA and Golden Globes for her work in "Saltburn". Up next, she will lead the psychological thriller "Hallow Road". Gone Girl star plays the sorceress Moiraine Damodred in Amazon’s "The Wheel of Time", which launches its third season next year.
